More than 20 terror organizations are operating in Afghanistan, Pakistan tells UN

GENEVA: Pakistan has told the U.N. Security Council that fundamental sources of insecurity in Afghanistan lie inside, not outside, given the fact that more than 20 terrorist organizations operate in that war-torn country.

“The Afghan government would be better advised to focus more seriously on its persisting challenges and embark on a course correction,” Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, said during a debate on the situation in Afghanistan.

In her speech to the UNGA couple of days ago, Dr Lodhi India was the mother of terrorism in South Asia.

Maleeha Lodhi said Kashmir was not the part of India, but the state has illegally been occupied by it. She said India’s refusal to implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir dispute is a deception and aggression.

She said India is leveling allegations against Pakistan to divert world attention from the brutalities its forces are committing against Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir.

Lodhi urged the international community to stop India from violating ceasefire agreement by resorting to firing along the Line of Control.
