60 people including Hanif Abbasi’s son booked over violent behavior in courtroom

Police filed a case and nominated more the 60 workers of PML-N including the son of Hanif Abbasi over the violent behavior into the courtroom during the hearing of ephedrine case against PML-N’s candidate Hanif Abbasi in Rawalpindi.

The FIR has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station and police included the names of Hanif Abbasi’s son, former member provincial assembly Ziaullah Shahid, Faizan Shah, Raja Usman, Shaukat Abbasi, Abid Abbasi and as many as 50 unidentified people in the FIR.

The police book them on the charges of destroying the courtroom’s property, establishing the violent environment into the courtroom and interfering into the proceedings of the court during the hearing of the case, a police officer said.

Hanif Abbasi, who was nominated by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the elections in the constituency of NA-60, has been sent to the jail for the life by the narcotics court in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Mr. Abbasi was accused of selling as much as 500kg of controlled chemical ephedrine to the smugglers of the narcotics. The court had rejected all the pleas filed by Hanif Abbasi seeking a 10-day-delay in the announcement of the verdict in the case.

The case was registered against Hanif Abbasi and his accomplices back in June 2012 by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) under the various sections of the Control of the Narcotics Substances Act. The Rawalpindi’s court had indicted main accused Hanif Abbasi and other accused in the case in 2014.
