AC expected to declare Ishaq Dar a proclaimed offender today

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court here on Monday (today) is expected to declare former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar a proclaimed offender owing to his perpetual absence during the court proceedings.

The court is to hear a corruption reference filed against Dar by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for having assets beyond his known sources of income.

NAB court may also confiscate Dar’s surety bond of Rs5 million if his bail guarantor, Ahmad Ali Qudoosi, fails to assure the court of ex-finance minister’s appearance.

Earlier, the court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for him on November 14 and subsequently declared him an absconder on November 21.
