RAHIM YAR KHAN: An oil tanker carrying 40 thousand liters of fuel overturned on the National Highway in the vicinity of Rahim Yar Khan district on Thursday morning, ARY News reported.

Motorway police said the oil tanker  careened off the highway and into the nearby area in Rahim Yar Khan after its driver fell asleep at the wheel. As a result, fuel began to spill out of the oil tanker.

Learning about the incident, the personnel of the motorway police arrived at the site and cordoned off the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Recent Bahawalpur inferno which had devoured more than 200 lives after an oil tanker overturned in Ahmadpur Sharqia lifted lid on worrying reality of violations on the part of transporters of highly inflammable chemicals which may lead to such deadly incidents.
