FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday wondered why the rule of law and application of articles 62 and 63 were enforceable on only the prime minister.
Addressing participants of an event organized by the Zakat and Ushr committee during which the law minister distributed auto rickshaws among the needy, Rana Sanaullah criticized PTI’s Islamabad Lockdown move which ultimately did not take place.
“A chief minister openly rebelled against the elected prime minister of the country,” he said. “Did anyone take notice of this? Is the Supreme Court not the custodian of this land?” he asked.
Rana Sanaullah further said that the country was still suffering from the consequences of hanging Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He blamed previous governments for the menace of load-shedding and terrorism that had plagued the country.
“After 12 October 1999, Pakistan experienced terrorism and load-shedding,” he said. “Today, the whole world is saying that terrorism has been eliminated from our country,” he added.
