KARACHI: Association of oil tankers went on countrywide strike against checking and implementation of safety rules following consecutive accidents including Ahmedpur Sharqia tragedy that claimed over 210 lives.

All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association kick-started countrywide strike saying, “The allegations of challan is leveled against them from place to place on roads despite the safety rules are put in practice.”

According to a spokesman of Pakistan State Oil (PSO), the supply of petroleum products continues in the country as usual.
