Avenfield reference: NAB’s report finds Sharifs involvement in corruption

The investigation report into the Avenfield supplementary reference has found former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his children and son-in-law were involved in corruption.

A report prepared by an official National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Muhammad Imran stated that Nawaz Sharif purchased Avenfield flats while holding a public office which does not comply with his apparent income.

According to the evidence, Maryam Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz presented fake trust deed in the court. “Captain (r) Safdar had also signed the trust deed,” the report mentioned.

The report further stated that Maryam Nawaz had said in her November 2011 interview with a private television that she didn’t have property in London, however, the statement submitted in the Supreme Court by the former premier’s daughter stated that Hussain Nawaz is the owner of Avenfield apartments since 2006.
