Bilawal to inaugurate 100MW power plant at Nooriabad

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will inaugurate a 100 megawatt power plant in Nooriababd today, ARY News reported.

The power plant, installed by the Sindh government in joint partnership with a private company, would supply electricity to K-Electric through a power transmission and dispatch company established by the provincial government.

Speaking to a press conference on Tuesday, Sindh information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said the plant would supply electricity generated by it to the city’s power utility to help improve load-shedding situation in the metropolis.

This power plant remained a bone of contention over the past few weeks between the Sindh government and the center over the latter’s refusal to supply natural gas for the plant.
