Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of case aimed at preventing ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from heading Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Chief Election Commissioner headed the hearing during which Babar Awan’s assistant requested that his senior could not appear before the court due to his Supreme Court engagements, therefore; additional time should be granted to them.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) lawyer said that high court had suspended some clauses of election act a day before.

CEC responded that a constitutional amendment has been made regarding the party presidency. He maintained that the court does not suspend any law of parliament but declare it annul instead.
