Court indicted Gillani and 25 others in multi-billion corruption case

A federal anti-corruption court on Thursday indicted the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gillani and 25 other accused in a corruption case linked to the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

All the accused pleaded not guilty to the corruption charges against them. Former PM Mr. Gillani and some other former serving senior officials were booked for their alleged involvement in the corruption charges and fraud of worth billions of rupees during the PPP government’s tenure.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had charge-sheeted Mr. Gilani in around 25 out of over 70 cases pertaining to the trade subsidy scam.

After the indictment process, the anti-corruption court asked Mr. Gillani and others if the accusations are true. Yousuf Raza Gillani responded that the accusations are false.
