ISLAMABAD: District President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Swabi Shah Malik Yousafzai on Thursday challenged the party’s recently held intra-party polls in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The PTI District President in a petition submitted to the commission termed the PTI’s intra-party elections as illegal.
The petitioner requested the ECP to declare the intra-party elections illegal and issue order for holding fresh intra-party elections.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI Chief Election Commissioner Senator Azam Khan Swati had declared successful holding of the party’s intra-party elections, which were won by the Insaf Panel.
On holding intra-party polls, the ECP had allotted the electoral symbol of the cricket bat to PTI, which it had disallowed earlier on exceeding the period of intra-party elections.
