ECP announced to scrutinize election expenses of candidates

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced to scrutinize the expenses on the election of both the winner and losing candidates.

The political finance wing will examine the candidates’ bank accounts, 90 days after the Election Commission receives the details of the election expenditure.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has set Rs 4 million for the National Assembly candidate and Rs 2 million for the candidate contesting for the Provincial Assembly seat.

ECP announced that the legal action will be taken under the corrupt practice against the candidates whose expenses will exceed the mentioned limits.

The Election Commission has also directed candidates to submit receipt over an expense of more than Rs 1000.
