LAHORE: Bahoo Films Corporation, the producers of Maula Jatt, has issued warning letters to the producers of Maula Jatt 2 who, according to them, are illegally reproducing the original film without their consent.
The letter was issued on behalf of renowned film producer Sarwer Bhatti and son Mohammed Muttaqi, CEO of Bahoo Films Corporation. Such notices were also sent to director Bilal Lashari and the cast of the film, which includes Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Humaima Malick and Hamza Ali Abbasi.
The notices, copies of which are available with The Express Tribune, warns the film’s cast and crew to cut ties with the project or face legal actions otherwise.
“This is to inform you that Bahoo Films Corporation, chaired by Muhammad Sarwer Bhatti, is the original maker and copyright holder of Muala Jatt which you are currently engaged in the illegal making of,” the notice to the cast reads. “We have warned the directors and producers, including Ammara Hikmat, to avoid abusing our rights but they have continued to do the same. Their claim of purchasing the rights from writer Nasir Adeeb is fraudulent.”
