Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi, who has been serving life imprisonment awarded to him by an anti-narcotics court in the ephedrine case, was shifted to a hospital from Adiala jail after he fell ill on Monday, ARY News reported.

Abbasi has been shifted to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology after he complained of a heart-related ailment. He is said to be undergoing the medical examination at the hospital at present.

It is pertinent to mention here that PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and his son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar, who have been serving their sentences in Adiala jail, were also moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) after they fell sick in prison.
