Heavy rain in Twin cities leaves streets flooded

ISLAMABAD (PAK TIMES): The twin cities of Pakistan (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) have witnessed heavy rain on the night between Monday and Tuesday.

The heavy rain left streets of Rawalpindi and Islamabad flooded, the residents of the twin cities are experiencing great difficulties.

Many areas in Rawalpindi including Shamsabad, Javed Colony, committee chowk and Sadiqabad are overflowed with the rain’s water. The water of rain entered masses’ houses, shops as well as in masjids which are creating many difficulties for the residents of the affected area.

The Flood Control Unit has issued a statement in which they mentioned that 202 millimeters of rain has been recorded so far in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The level of the water in Rawalpindi’s Nullah Lai has risen to 14 feet, in this regard, the Civil Defence, Rescue 1122 teams, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), and other concerned departments have been directed to remain on alert.
