The High Court of Islamabad has on Monday reinstated the show cause notice issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan to the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had issued a show-cause notice to PTI Chief Imran Khan over the violation of the code of the conduct in the by-poll election in Lahore’s (of that time’s) NA-120 from which Nawaz Sharif was disqualified.

A single member bench incorporated of Justice Amir Farooq has conducted the hearing of the election commission’s show-cause notice against PTI Chief. The court had reserved its verdict on April 26.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restored the show-cause notice while rejected the plea filed by Imran Khan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had issued the notice to Imran Khan for holding the rallies Lahore, Sahiwal, and Lodhran during the by-poll elections after which the verdict of election commission was challenged in the Islamabad High Court.
