The Islamabad High to hear the appeal, filed by the former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif against the accountability court’s verdict in Al-Azizia corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on January 21.
Nawaz Sharif, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is seeking bail and suspension of his seven years sentence awarded by the accountability court.
As per the details, a two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will preside over the hearing the appeal.
A day before, the high court ordered its registrar office to fix the hearing within 10 days when Nawaz Sharif’s legal team pleaded with the court for an early date for the writ petition to be heard.
The plea also stated that “transparent trial is the right of every Pakistani national.”
