The Indian authorities have released two Pakistani nationals who were imprisoned in India. Both men have crossed over to their homes in Pakistan through the Wagah border crossing on Wednesday.
Abdullah Shah and Muhammad Imran Warsi were handed over to Pakistan Rangers by the Indian border authorities at the Wagah-Attari border crossing.
Abdullah Shah, who belongs to Swat’s Mingora city, was taken into custody by the Indian authorities from Attari in 2017 while Imran Warsi, who belongs to Pakistan’s Karachi, spent 10 years in Bhopal jail on charges of “forgery and spying” after travelling to India back in 2004.
The Indian police have detained Imran Warsi when he had gone to India to meet his relatives who lived in Kolkata.
The Indian authorities have released two Pakistani prisoners days after Pakistan released and repatriated Indian citizen Hamid Nehal Ansari.
