JI decided to challenge the bill in court, Siraj Says

Islamabad: Head of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq has decided to approach the Court against the newly approved electoral reform bill 2017 which clears the way for ousted Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif to become the head of a political party again.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is trying to save just one person by adding a controversial clause in the bill, he said while talking to media persons on Tuesday.

If the democracy derailed in Pakistan, PML-N would be held responsible because of their dangerous and disputatious politics, the JI Ameer said.

“Will you only accept those verdicts by courts which are in your favor?” he said.

Further, he said, all opposition parties unanimously opposed the amendments in the law and tore copies of the bill presented by Government.

In the answer to a question, he said that everyone should be accountable in the country and accountability should not be confined to a single person only.

While answering a question, he said that the mission of Ahmadis and Qadianis has been accomplished with the approval of the bill.
