The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned contempt of court proceedings against former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal till September 5.
A three-member bench led by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi heard a court of contempt case against Ahsan Iqbal for making anti-judiciary speeches.
Iqbal’s lawyer informed the court that his client had submitted an unconditional apology in relation to the contempt of court proceedings against him.
To reply, the bench questioned if Ahsan Iqbal had also accepted his mistake then the apology rendered to the court was more praise than an apology. The bench asserted that PML-N leaders submitted apologies in court and outside passed remarks that their party was being targeted.
