ISLAMABAD: A larger bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s petition against his non-bailable arrest warrants.

Justice Amir Farooq heard the proceedings in the case today.

Advocate Babar Awan, a lawyer representing Imran Khan, said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has no authority to issue non-bailable arrest warrants of his clients.

Awan said, “The arrest warrants issued by ECP on 12th October were unconstitutional.”

The lawyer said that his client is anguished by the arrest warrants.

He further stated that the election commission has ordered the authorities to arrest Khan and produced him before the tribunal on 26th October.

Awan pleaded the bench to declare the arrest warrants void.
