A lawmaker from Indian ruling party questioned the patriotism of Virat, Anushka

A lawmaker from Indian ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party Pannalal Shakya on Tuesday questioned the patriotism of cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma for choosing Italy as a wedding destination.

Addressing a programme on PM Narendra Modi’s Skill India campaign in Guna, the local Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Pannalal Shakya referring to the lavish wedding of Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli in Italy said that he (Kohli) earned fame and money in India and chose to spend billions on his marriage outside the country, according to local media.

“This is a country which witnessed the marriage of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Vikramaditya and Yudhisthir but he did not find a suitable place to tie the knot and went abroad,” Shakya went on to add.

“This indicates that Bharat Bhumi does not mean anything to him and this is not Rashtra-bhakti or deshbhakti,” quipped the MLA.

“Italy ke nachne-gaane wale crorepati ban gaye aur tum desh ki punji bahar le ja rahe ho,” said the upset MLA.
