NAB to challenge accountability court’s decision of releasing Captain (r) Safdar on bail

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has on Thursday decided to challenge the decision of Accountability Court (AC) to release Captain (r) Safdar on bail.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared an application in this regard to challenging the decision by the Accountability Court (AC).

The Accountability Court has released Captain (r) Safdar on bail when The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has presented him before the court after arresting him from the Islamabad airport.

The Accountability Court has rejected The National Accountability Bureau’s request to take Safdar’s passport in custody and issue his judicial remand, however, the court directed Captain (r) Safdar not to leave the country without permission of the court. Copies of the reference had also been provided to the leader of PMLN.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Captain (r) Safdar from Benazir International Airport Islamabad on October 9 as he returned from London along with his wife Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
