Nawaz seeks exemption from appearing court during hearing of Flagship reference

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday couldn’t appear before the court due to security issues and sought a one-day exemption from hearing of the case pertaining to Flagship Investments reference.

The Accountability Court Judge, Arshad Malik resumed the hearing of the case during which Khawaja Harris submitted his client Nawaz Sharif’s exemption plea.

Earlier, Khawaja Harris completed his 11th cross-examination of joint investigation team (JIT) head and primary witness Wajid Zia.

Zia had told the court that Nawaz Sharif provided income tax records and wealth statement from 1985-1999 and 2009-2016. Hassan Nawaz provided an explanation for the SPV model pertaining to his companies, he added.
