Nawaz Sharif and his two sons have not appeared before NAB

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his two sons – Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz – have not appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today (Friday).

Disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his two sons had been summoned by the NAB to appear before it today (Friday) in its Lahore office for interrogation in connection with the money laundering and corruption cases.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials had said that the summons regarding the appearance of Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz were received at Jati Umrah and a signed copy is also available.

“The former prime minister is considering boycotting the NAB proceedings because he thinks it is very much likely that like the Panama Papers case he may not get justice in its case as well,” the PML-N leader said.

Moreover, former PM’s cousin Tariq Shafi and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have also been summoned by the NAB.

Sources said that failing to appear before the NAB would be considered as absence, adding that it is necessary for the parties to appear before the investigation team in criminal inquiry and arrest warrants can be issued for failing to face the investigation.
