Nawaz’s cousin moves court against JIT members’ ‘misbehaviour’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s cousin Mian Muhammad Tariq Shafi has approached the Supreme Court (SC) against the “misbehaviour” of the joint investigation team (JIT) members probing into the Panama Papers case.

Shafi, who was interrogated by the JIT, has filed a petition in the apex court against the ill-treatment” he was subjected to.

Sources told The Express Tribune that the prime minister’s sons were also considering moving a plea in the court to raise objections over the methods being employed to investigate them.

Previously, sources privy to the working of the JIT said the team did not want to visit the Prime Minister’s House to question Sharif as that could attract the opposition’s ire and accusations of partiality.
