No PM has completed his tenure in this country in 70 years, Maryam Aurangzeb

Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has on Friday said that all institutions should uphold the supremacy of law and the Constitution.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday to mark the completion of 70 years of the Parliament, she said that the concept of respecting the mandate of the people and the Constitution demands respect for the Parliament.

The minister regretted that throughout the history of the country, the Parliament remained most insecure of the institutions, adding that no elected prime minister completed her or his term in country’s 70-year history.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the country achieved developmental goals, moved ahead in all spheres of life and its standing improved globally during the periods when democratic governments were in place.
