Pakistan launched on Monday two satellites into orbit using a Chinese launch vehicle, Radio Pakistan reported.

The satellites were launched using a Chinese Long March (LM-2C) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

According to Xinhua, China’s official state-run press agency, one of the satellites launched is a remote sensing satellite (PRSS1) – a dual-purpose Earth observational and optical satellite. With the launch of PRSS1, Pakistan has become one of the few countries to have its own remote sensing satellite in orbit.
