In order to provide the facility to the people, the Pakistan Railways has reportedly announced to start a new shuttle train service between Gujranwala and Lahore.

According to the statement issued by the spokesperson of the Pakistan Railways, the shuttle train service between Lahore and Gujranwala is being launched on the directives of the Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rasheed.

The announcement to launch the service was already made by the federal minister last month. “Pakistan Railways will introduce a new shuttle train between Lahore and Gujranwala,” he said last month.

He said that Imran Khan—the Prime Minister of Pakistan will launch the Gujranwala train shuttle service between the two cities.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities of the Pakistan Railways restored the shuttle train service between Lahore and Wagah Railway station and the train called “Rail Car” that has the capacity for 181 passengers.

Back in 1997, the shuttle train service between Lahore and Wagah railway station was shut down due to the security reasons.
