Pakistan summoned US ambassador and lodged protest over Donald Trump’s tweet

Pakistan summoned US ambassador in Islamabad and lodged a protest over US President Donald Trump’s tweet in which he doubted Pakistan’s role against terrorism.

US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale was called to the Foreign Ministry after high-level consultations between Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and civil and military leaders.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua summoned the US ambassador and sought clarification about Trump’s remarks.

She told the US envoy that Pakistan has taken action against all militants’ groups without any discrimination and regretted that her country’s sacrifices are being ignored.
