International Cricket Council (ICC) Director Giles Clarke has on Monday said that Pakistani government and people have played an important role in bringing back international cricket to the country.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore along with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, he said that it is the beginning of long journey international cricket in Pakistan after years of isolation.
Giles said that efforts of security agencies of Pakistan for improving law and order situation in the country are laudable.
The ICC director said that final of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) second edition in Lahore has paved way for the World XI tour, adding that PCB, government, Rameez Raja and Andy Flower have also played key role.
On the occasion, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi thanked International Cricket Council (ICC) and international cricket players for their cooperation in holding Independence Cup 2017 in Lahore.
