PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has come up to a decision of removing Sarfaraz Ahmed from the captaincy of the national cricket team. It is being noticed that a replacement has already been chosen.
The 32-year-old Safaraz who led the cricket team in 13 test matches up till now, out of which the team won 4 and lost 8 matches, have been decided to be removed from the test captainship.
This decision was a surprise for many people, as under his leadership Pakistan reached on the 5th rank after winning 5 matches in the recent world cup of 2019. Previously, it had been clarified that the man would not be parting ways with the captainship.
While talking to the press in a press conference held at the National Stadium Karachi, Sarfraz said that PCB once decided to make him the captain and now the board has full authority to decide his future.
Further developments are expected to be done regarding this issue in a meeting of the cricket committee, soon to be held on 8th August 2019 in Lahore. In that meeting it will be decided whether Sarfraz will be continuing his captainship in ODI’s (One Day International) and in T20 (Twenty 20). The matter is still under discussion.
Yet no suggestions have been given to promote Captain Asad Shafiq to captainship. Although there are high chances of Shan Masood to be made the captain, who is already a leading captain of the National Bank’s team in the domestic cricket team.
