A pink responder ambulance designated to give emergency treatment to women, both pregnant and non-pregnant, handle deliveries, injuries among children and shift them to hospitals was launched recently, reported Khaleej Times.
Khalifa Al Drai, the Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), said that the pink responder is the latest service of the specialised services that DCAS offers. Currently, 24 services are being offered.

The pink ambulance will be initially positioned at Al Tawar Municipality Centre. The ambulance will cover the entire Deira area for 12 uninterrupted hours from 11am to 11pm.
The point where the pink responder will be stationed shall be evaluated within two months depending on the areas from where DCAS mostly receives reports. After a short trial run, another woman responder will be launched to cover Bur Dubai suburb.
Al Drai said those who will be benefiting from the pink responder are mostly women. The ambulance will be able to treat various injuries that women complain of.
