ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has instructed workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday to not arrive at Federal Judicial Academy on June 15 over his appearance before a Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
A notification of the JIT, probing the first family of Pakistan over corruption allegations, was issued late Sunday summoning the premier to appear to answer officials’ questions on June 15.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as well as Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have foreboded that activists of the federally ruling party would resort to the extreme option over the summoning of their leader.
President of PPP Punjab chapter and former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira hoped on Sunday in a media talk that PML-N would not resort to agitation over the summoning.
“Reports coming in that PMLN has readied its Gullus to have show of physical strength on Thursday when NS goes before JIT. Will not allow it,” Imran Khan stated on Twitter today.
However, the premier has instructed the activists to not arrive at the JIT headquarters. Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs, Dr Asif Kirmani said that the premier fully knows that his supporters wish to come to the academy o express solidarity.
