Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday (today).

Chairing the session, Premier Khan will review the performance of the government while Finance Minister Asad Umer will take the cabinet on-board regarding the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

New Housing scheme announced by the PTI government will also come under discussion during the session.

On October 16, the government said that it will present the proposed IMF bailout package before the parliament for approval.

The government recently announced its decision to approach IMF amid severe criticism from opposition parties for taking a U-turn on the issue.

Justifying the move of the ruling party, Minister Asad Umer had said, the government had to take the decision to approach the IMF because of the high current account deficit as a result of the misconceived economic policies of the past government.
