Police have on Sunday apprehended the prime suspect involved in more than a dozen incident of attacks on women in Karachi from Punjab’s Mandi Bahauddin area.
As per details, police and intelligence agencies carried out a raid at the shrine of Nosho Pak in Mandi Bahauddin area and claimed to have arrested Waseem, the prime suspect involved in more than a dozen incidents of attack on women in Karachi.
The law enforcers have shifted the arrested suspect to an undisclosed location for further interrogation and preparations are being made to bring the suspect to Karachi.
On Friday, police had claimed to have arrested an accomplice of the knife attacker. The alleged attacker, Mohammad Shehzad, was arrested after a knife was recovered from his possession.
Over a dozen women, including minor girls, have been injured in several knife attacks in parts of the city since September 26.
Initially, the attacker started carrying out attacks in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, prompting authorities concerned to put the police force on high alert. But then such attacks also occurred in other parts of the city, putting a question mark on the performance of police, who have several times claimed to have busted gang or networks of high-profile militant organizations or target killers.
