KARACHI: A former vice-president of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Karachi chapter, Habib Hassan, was detained on Monday by security agencies.
Hassan was taken into custody during an overnight raid conducted at his residence at Singu Lane area of Lyari’s Kalakot locality. Hassan had been PPP’s Karachi chapter vice-president for over a year till April last year. Currently, he was serving as the chairperson of Union Council 12 of Lyari.
Sources in the party told The Express Tribune Hassan had also played a key role in the banned Peoples Amn Committee and had been associated with the Lyari Resource Centre.
