The leaders of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have on Tuesday again criticized the process of accountability against former prime minister and party president Nawaz Sharif.
Talking to media outside the accountability court (AC), Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the former prime minister is appearing before courts despite reservations.
She said that a wrong impression is being created that Sharif family is running away from courts.
The minister said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tried to gather pieces of evidence from around the world but no corruption charges were proved against the former Prime Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique while criticizing the said that court judgment said that there was nothing like accountability. “Sharif family is not undergoing accountability but revenge,” he added.
Taking a jibe at former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-Chairman, he said that Asif Ali Zardari is following an unknown agenda.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz was of the view that the country’s anti-graft watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not find evidence against Sharif family from Britain.
