Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday suggested the names of Dr Hassan Askari and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) Nasir Durrani for Punjab’s caretaker chief minister.

A four-member committee of the party finalized the names after consultation. PTI chief Imran Khan has provided approval of the names.

Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmmodur Rasheed said the names were decided after the party’s leadership held consultations. Rasheed hoped that he would be able to discuss this matter with Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that efforts are underway to contact Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and arrange a meeting with him.
