Electronics giant Samsung will soon unveil the world’s first stretchable display, the company said on Monday.
The South Korean manufacturer will showcase its 9.1-inch stretchable OLED panel at the Society for Information Display Conference taking place in the US on Tuesday.
“While current flexible OLED is able to be transformed in only one side, this stretchable OLED can be transformed – whether curved, bended or rolled – in both sides, above and below” a Samsung Display spokesperson said.
The new stretchable screen technology represents the latest and most advanced flexible display currently available, and has an array of application.
“When pressed, the stretchable display is dented up to 12 millimetres, like a balloon, and then reverts back to its original shape,” the company said.
