Sindh Police arrested protesting teachers in Karachi

KARACHI: Police baton charged and took into custody teachers who were protesting against Sindh government and demanding they be regularised on Wednesday. 

According to details, the protesting teachers had assembled at Urdu Bazaar. The teachers had taken to the streets in protest for not being granted permanent status by the government despite being appointed since 2014. They had also cleared the National Testing Service exam.

The teachers protested against the demand of the government to give the re-test of the NTS and argued that they had been in service for the past three years hence they should be regularised instead.

As many as 150 teachers from the various districts of Sindh showed up for the protest, chanting slogans against the government and demanding their rights.
