Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the son-in-law of former chief justice, Iftikhar Chaudhry, has been arrested in Dubai in connection to the housing scheme scandal.
Murtaza Amjad, the son-in-law of Iftikhar Chaudhry, has been taken into custody in Dubai in the Eden Housing Scheme case, he told the media.
He said Murtaza was arrested following the request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He said the housing scheme scandal also had the name of former CJP’s son Arsalan Iftikhar.
‘We will keep updating people about the case,” he added.
In June this year, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had demanded the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman to take action against ex-CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry and his family members with regards to the Eden Housing Scheme, which deprived people of their hard-earned money.
