Supreme Court disposed of suo motu case of Mashal Khan’s murder

The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday disposed of suo motu case of the murder of Mashal Khan, a journalism student at Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU).

A three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar resumed hearing of the suo motu case.

During the proceedings, the court observed that the trial court has concluded and the accused persons have been convicted, there is no need to further proceed the case.

Earlier, a Pakistani court on February 7 convicted 31 people over the campus lynching of a university student who was falsely accused of blasphemy and sentenced one of them to death.
