ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court, on Wednesday reserved judgment in the Election Act 2017 which paved the way for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to become party head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) prior to disqualification.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) stated that they will reassemble at 4:30 pm to announce whether the short order should be issued today February 21 or later.

Major political parties – including the PPP and the PTI – challenged the Elections Reforms Act 2017, which paved the way for Sharif to become party head again after his disqualification from holding political office under Article 62 (1) (f) of the Constitution.
