ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday summoned Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in a case pertaining to the charging of exorbitant fee from Pakistanis living abroad for the issuance and cancellation of national identity cards.

A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, was hearing a case pertaining to excessive fee Nadra has been charging from non-resident Pakistanis.

He asked the interior minister and secretary to appear before the court to explain why a summary with regard to Nadra’s fee structure for overseas Pakistanis was rejected by the ministry.
