Supreme Court (SC) on Monday has thrown out a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar declared Barrister Chaudhry’s plea as ineffective for the case and dismissed it.

The claimant’s counsel argued that an issue mentioned in the petition is still effective. However, I will not insist on this plea any more, he added.

It is to be mentioned here that the petition had sought disqualification of the premier as he did not fulfil Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
