Talal Chaudhry disqualified for five years, fined Rs1 lac by Supreme Court

Another leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Talal Chaudhry has been disqualified for five years by the apex court of the country in the contempt of court case against him.

The Supreme Court imposed a fine of Rs1 lac on him and sentenced until the rising of the court as well.

Justice Gulzar-led three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced the verdict which was reserved by the court on July 11.

The top court convicted and sentenced Talal Chaudhry under the article 5 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance of the constitution.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had taken a suo motu notice of the Talal’s speech against the judiciary of Pakistan on February 1 during a public gathering.

Court had issued a show-cause notice to him on 6th of the February and directed the former minister to submit the reply before the court.
