The crisis of CNG in Karachi enters the fourth day

Gas and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) crisis that has unearthedKarachi, has entered the fourth day today (Thursday) on the other hand traders and CNG association also have threatened the government to stage a sit-in in case of their demand for gas supply was not fulfilled.

As per the details, the spokesperson of the Sui Southern GasCompany (SSGC) said in a statement that supply to the stations of Compressed NaturalGas (CNG) would remain closed for an indefinite period of time due to technical faults in the field.

He further said that the gas supply would also remain suspended for three months to the industrial units run by the captive power plants in Karachi.

Earlier, a fact-finding committee was formed on Wednesday by PM Khan to review failing of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) systems. The committee was directed to present its report to the Prime Minister in next 72 hours.

PM Imran had presided over a high-level meeting in which matters pertaining to gas crisis in the country was reviewed and discussed.
