Two guards of Nawaz Sharif sent to the jail on a 14-day remand

Two guards of Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have been sent to the Adiala jail on 14-day judicial remand for beaten up a journalist in Islamabad on Monday.

The names of both guards are Muhammad Mohsin and Muhammad Mansab and they were produced before judicial magistrate Saqib Jawad on Tuesday.

The two had beaten up Wajid Ali, a cameraman of the SAMAA TV outside the parliament on Monday. Police have filed a case against three security guards under sections 355 (assault with intent to dishonour a person) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860.

The nominated suspects will be produced before the court on January 1, Tuesday.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has taken notice of the attack. He remarked that the government will ensure the safety of media personnel.
