Two lawyers killed in firing at Lahore sessions court

Two lawyers were shot dead when a third lawyer opened fire at a Lahore sessions court on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

Both the perpetrator, identified as Kashif Rajput, and a slain victim were embroiled in a property dispute, the police added. The victims were identified as Rana Nadeem and Rana Owais.

The incident took place outside the courtroom of Judge Taseerur Rehman.

The assailant was taken into custody, police said.

A heavy contingent of police reached the court premises when the incident took place and cordoned off the area. Security was tightened and a search operation conducted in court, with both entry and exit points closed off, police told DawnNews.
